Good governance ensures transparency and accountability, creating a strong foundation for trust within the school community. It promotes legal and regulatory compliance, safeguards resources, and supports effective decision-making that prioritises student wellbeing and educational excellence. Good governance allows the College to fulfil its mission and achieve its goals while maintaining a safe, inclusive, and future-focused learning environment.

Dominic College is a Catholic, co-educational school that has been owned and governed by the Salesians of Don Bosco since 1946.

In 2021, Dominic College transitioned from an unincorporated entity to a company limited by guarantee. Under its Constitution, the College is governed by a Board of Directors, who provide strategic and financial oversight and ensure full compliance with our legal obligations, including under the Corporations Act, the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Act, and the Education Act.

The Principal, appointed by and accountable to the Board, serves as the Company's Chief Executive Officer. They are responsible for the overall leadership, stewardship, and day-to-day management of the College, including the education and welfare of students and the management and development of staff.

All staff members are employed directly by Dominic College, ensuring clear and consistent alignment with the College’s mission, values, and operational goals.
