Dominic College partners with the Discovery Early Learning Centre to offer before school, after school and vacation care programs for K-6 students enrolled at the College. The Early Learning Centre is conveniently located on school grounds and provides a seamless and supportive environment for families. Having onsite childcare benefits families by ensuring a safe and familiar setting for children, promoting continuity in their daily routine, and fostering a strong sense of community.
About Discovery Early Learning Centre
The Discovery Early Learning Centre is a Tasmanian, family owned and operated organisation with extensive experience in providing high quality education and care programs for children from birth to 12 years of age across Tasmania.
They offer Long Day Care, Preschool Programs and Outside School Hours Care including, Before School, After School and Vacation Care. They understand every family has different needs and, with this in mind, offer care on a full time or part time basis. Occasional care and casual care are also available.
They are dedicated to providing early education programs for children in a safe, secure, challenging and nurturing environment that is rich, flexible and encourages learning, curiosity, creativity and exploration.
Partnership with Dominic College
Our partnership with the Discovery Early Learning Centre promotes our shared mission to provide quality education and care to children. The establishment and operation of an onsite childcare centre is an important element of the College’s future growth and reflects the importance of providing a comprehensive pathway for the appropriate care and education of children within the context of a Catholic educational facility.
Before and After School Care
The College offers a before and after school care program which operates from our luwutina Centre.
- This program is for Kindergarten to Year 6 students currently enrolled at Dominic College and for the children of College employees.
- In the morning, educators walk children to their classrooms.
- In the afternoon, educators collect children from classrooms, communicate with teachers, and relay any relevant information to families.
Vacation Care
The College offers vacation care during school holidays which operates from our luwutina Centre.
- This program is for Kindergarten to Year 6 students currently enrolled at Dominic College, their siblings, and for the children of College employees.
Operating Hours
Dominic Early Learning Centre is open Monday to Friday, from 6:30am to 6:30pm.
